Incorporated by the founder of the group Mr. Shapurji Sorabji, the Company opened its first property The Grand Hotel in 1922.

The Grand Hotel being our flagship property was designed by George Wittet, one of Mumbai's best known architects at the time, who also designed best known landmarks in Mumbai such as the Gateway of India, The Prince of Wales Museum, Institute of Science, and Bombay House.

The Valley View Grand Resort established in 1994, became the brand’s second property, located at Panhala Fort, Kolhapur, at an elevation of 3,000 feet above sea level. It offers breathtaking panoramic views of the valley and stands on an estate that once belonged to the legendary Indian filmmaker, producer, and actor V. Shantaram.
